USPTA’s Tennis Across America™ events invite you to get out and play!

If you want to try the game of tennis for the first time, get back onto the court after an absence, or want another opportunity to hit some balls and have fun, find a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Tennis Across America™ clinic near you and celebrate National Tennis Month in May.

May 12, 2007 is the 18th annual Tennis Across America™ day for the USPTA. On this day, you can participate in one of many free nationwide tennis clinics taught by a USPTA Professional as part of the USPTA’s Tennis Across America™ program. The USPTA began this free tennis program when the tennis industry urged organizations to create programs to increase tennis participation in the United States. Be sure to ask the teacher leading the clinic about his or her programs, summer schedule and facility.

Tennis Across America™ is proudly supported by tennis industry stars who serve as honorary co-chairs. Some of this years co-chairs are former President George Bush; Billie Jean King, sports legend and social pioneer; the World’s No. 1-ranked men’s double team of Mike and Bob Bryan; former touring pros Leslie Allen, Pam Shriver, TV analyst and former touring pro; world-renowned tennis coach and Master Professional Rick Macci, and sports science expert Jack Groppel, Ph.D.

If you are interested in participating in a Tennis Across America™ event, please visit www.uspta.com and click on the Tennis Across America™ logo at the bottom right-hand corner of the page. The web site is updated weekly, so if you do not find a clinic in your area, check the web site again or use the Find-a-Pro service to locate a pro near you, and ask if he or she is hosting a free clinic.
